Festival LEGS

In keeping with its unique approach, the LEGS festival continues to question the links between dance and its history. Summoning up the leading lights of dance or forgotten figures, mythical pieces, traditions, and visual and physical memories, the festival’s artists play with the past and with the rich heritage of dance and art, including some more recent additions. In doing so they reveal works that are perfectly rooted in the contemporary world.

The festival programme for 2022 focuses on festive and performative forms with cabaret and a choreo-gastronomic piece, French and Italian folklore, rituals from Cameroon, Lebanon and Iran, a return to some cult pieces, and the careers of performers and choreographers. The festival explores the origins of man, either that or the origins of monkeys…, the history of clothes and bodies; all these encounters with the past or with otherness reveal a part of our humanity. Lastly, rounding off this immersion in the treasures of dance, courses are being run for us have a go ourselves.
