“Preview” residences are designed to provide artists with the ideal conditionsfor perfecting pieces asthey near their premieres. This special support takes the form of a technical residence to put the finishing touches to a show and help with its wider dissemination. The residence concludes with an invitation to professionals to promote exchanges and raise the profile of the creators’ work. This year, our guest artists are Vilma Pitrinaite and Mercedes Dassy (in December) and Ikue Nakagawa (in January).

Nuits / Léa Vinette (BE)

A woman lives alone in a brilliantly white cold space where darkness does not exist. Gradually, darkness appears. Intrigued by this phenomenon which slowly absorbs her world, she feels herself disappearing, losing the boundaries of her own identity. The disappearance of light invites her into transformation, defying fixity and pushing her into a multiplicity of being. A strong feeling of pleasure and power. Nuits is an attempt to understand how darkness opens our doors to perception and introspection. It is the virginity and freedom of body that Léa seeks in her work, a primitive sensorial body, charged with gracious violence.
