“Preview” residences are designed to provide artists with the ideal conditionsfor perfecting pieces asthey near their premieres. This special support takes the form of a technical residence to put the finishing touches to a show and help with its wider dissemination. The residence concludes with an invitation to professionals to promote exchanges and raise the profile of the creators’ work. This year, our guest artists are Vilma Pitrinaite and Habib Ben Tanfous

Habib Ben Tanfous (born in 1992) draws on his Tunisian roots, but also on the western perspectives that endlessly take him back there, for the material in this creation. With a background in hip hop, in which he immersed himself from the age of fifteen, via the Hip Hop Springboard, he studied acting at the Brussels Conservatoire, followed by contemporary dance. These languages feed the aesthetic of the artist who is seeking the “poetry of movement”, a “dance that adapts to the body and not the other way round”. His piece tells of the bridges and rifts in identity, articulated between the body and voice, between here and over there.
