Une coproduction et co-présentation Charleroi danse et Kunstenfestivaldesarts

Charleroi danse s’engage à produire, présenter et accompagner les œuvres de Louise Vanneste durant trois années de 2017 à 2020.

With Thérians(2017), Louise Vanneste embarked on a period of research comprising both dance and literature. À travers les aulnesis a new milestone in her work, inspired by Michel Tournier’s novel Friday, or, The Other Islandin order to create the choreographic environment. Louise Vanneste and her collaborators started with mental pictures generated by reading the novel. These were then elaborated into a fantasised choreographic map centred on the myth of Robinson, his relationship with the desert island and his encounter with Friday. Keen to immerse the audience more intimately in the proposition, Louise Vanneste imagines a choreographic wandering here involving all the senses. Similarly, the choreographer does not make the dancing body the epicentre of À travers les aulnes. Video, lighting and sound take it in turns to shine, connecting to one another, becoming autonomous again and “creating a body in the space as much as presenting other challenges in the perception of time and movement, calling on other bodies”.
