Koen Augustijnen

Koen Augustijnen worked for years as a choreographer at les ballets C de la B when it was still a collective. He started out there as a performer in Alain Patel’s work. Augustijnen also collaborated with dEUS, Ivo van Hove and Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Arne Sierens and Compagnie Cecilia, Stalker Theater Company from Australia, TG STAN, TanzMainz, …

In 2013 Augustijnen and Rosalba Torres Guerrero left Les Ballets C de la B and started a freelance career. They joined forces to co-direct with dramaturge Hildegard De Vuyst, Badke (2013), a production with ten Palestinian dancers in which the Arabic dabke dance is being updated in a contemporary context.

In 2015 they directed Hochzeit (2017) for the entire dance company of TanzMainz.

Siamese Cie is the new artistic name of Koen Augustijnen and Rosalba Torres Guerrero. They will continue in the future to support each other’s creations as well as develop new projects which they will co-create and co-direct.
