David Wampach

David Wampach started his personal work in founding Association Achles.

After the duet D ES R A (2003), created with Pierre Mourles, and CIRCONSCRIT (2004), he created BASCULE (2005), QUATORZE (2007), AUTO (2008), BATTERIE (2008) and BATTEMENT (2009).

In 2011, he created two new pieces in reference to the Russian Ballet: CASSETTE, a re-lecture of Nutcracker, and SACRE, which is based on The Rite of Spring, presented at the Festival Montpellier Danse in 2011. In the same year, he was laureat at the Villa Kujojama in Kyoto. In 2012 and 2013, he pursues his work on rituals and on trance in realizing his first short film, RITE, a continuation of the piece SACRE, and creates the solo TOUR, a visual and sonorous portrait.

In 2014, he created the duet VEINE for the outdoor festival Cratère Surfaces, organized by Le Cratère, scène nationale d’Alès, where he is associate artist from 2012 to 2016. In 2015, he creates URGE at the Montpellier Danse Festival, a piece for 6 dancers about desire and urges. In 2016, David Wampach became associated artist at La Maison CDCN Uzès Gard Occitanie. In 2017, at the Montpellier Danse festival, he created ENDO, a duo wich takes inspiration from endotism and action art which has been seen during the LEGS festival 2018, then BEREZINA in 2019, a piece for 6 dancers.

David Wampach is also regularly invited to teach in educational programs, such as ex.e.r.ce at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier, EMFOCO in Concepción, Chile, and danceWEB, the scholarship program of the ImPulsTanz festival in Vienna.
