[ Cancelled ] The Fluid Force of Love

The Fluid Force of Love is Jan Fabre’s response to the current time where, in his words, “it’s more about knowing who we love and how we love.”
Reacting to the assignment of sexual and gender identity, Fabre responds with great freedom of expression that is very different from the standard words written about the new constraints of a pseudo sexual freedom. Through words and dance, the artist poses these questions straight out, using a form of humour inspired by the burlesque, a firm favourite of his that has already been seen in his work Orgy of Tolerance (2009). Alternating choreographic phrases and absurd theatrical scenes, the nine performers in the piece undermine the mechanics of the sexual revolution with great gusto.
Passionately free, Jan Fabre endeavours once again to share his immense curiosity and love of his art form with us, as much as question our ability to love, which over time has provided the foundation for all his work.
