Swan Lake solo, transmission

In this workshop, Olga Dukhovnaya shares the challenges presented by her piece Swan Lake solo. How do you turn a mythical romantic ballet into a show for today? Can you remove the line between the soloist and corps de ballet and be liberated from the dominant representation? Several composition processes will be explored — phase differences, minimalist remixes, compressions, deconstruction — touching on Tchaikovski’s music as well as the choreography, to see what a body can express.
