In 2018, the choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni set off on the trace  of an almost forgotten Italian courtly dance, practised at that time by just five dancers. A popular tradition that is dying out. Dating from the early 20th century and originally from the region of Bologna, the polka chinata is a very physical and acrobatic men’s dance performed in a duet. A pirouetting embrace and plenty of whirling around that, thanks to these artists, continues to this day.
