In 2018 is choreograaf Alessandro Sciarroni op ontdekking gegaan naar een bijna vergeten Italiaanse hofdans, die destijds door slechts vijf dansers werd beoefend. Een populaire traditie die dreigt te verdwijnen. De polka chinata, die dateert uit het begin van de 20e eeuw en zijn oorsprong heeft in de streek rond Bologna, is een zeer fysieke, zelfs acrobatische mannendans die in duetten wordt uitgevoerd.
