Une co-présentation Kaaitheater et Charleroi danse

On a huge black screen, a Google Earth image. On the map, a red dot appears, identified by geographical coordinates. Then a name, and a date and cause of death of a person buried to the proximity to the location of the theater space. One after another, more red dots appear in Belgium, Norway, Spain and along the shores of the Mediterranean. Now and then, filmed images move through cemeteries, leading to a grave. Death after death, name after name, place after place, Arkadi Zaides pieces together Necropolis, a city of thousands of migrants and refugees who lose their lives while travelling towards Europe. With this poignantly restrained performance, the Israeli choreographer confronts the consciences of the living citizens, with their responsibilities and potential obligations towards the othered dead.
