Choreographer and visual artist, urban dance researcher and teacher, Ana Pi has collaborated several times with Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud, and specifically on Le Tour du monde des danses urbaines en dix villes.
From South Africa to Jamaica, from the United States to Angola, Ana Pi guides spectators of all ages through a discovery of ten styles of street dance and towards understanding, in simple
words, the contexts that gave rise to them.

So krump, with its head snaps and chest pops, was born in Los Angeles in a climate
of race riots, kuduro in Angola in the throes of civil war, and pantsula in Johannesburg under apartheid.
As images and Ana Pi’s performances go by, a portrait of a viscerally dancing humanity gradually emerges from this selection of dances that emerged at the turn of the third millennium. Even (and perhaps above all) in the worst kinds of situations, steps and rhythms are invented so that people can continue to live, have hope
and not kill oneanother.
