Thomas Hauert will be celebrating his dance company’s twentieth anniversary in 2018. Enjoying an unusual and reciprocal loyalty with his performers and collaborators, the choreographer marks this occasion with the creation of a piece for them, about them and with them. Like films or musicals that show a film shoot or rehearsals, the show stages the creative process, always imbued with a certain mystery, with life extending beyond the edge of the stage… This device of a show within a show has a blurring effect, emphasising the to-ing and fro-ing between art and life, writing and improvisation, the very essence of the performing arts. Thomas Hauert is being joined on stage by seven performers who have inspired his work from the outset of the company to the present day. Paying homage to these performers, his choreographic writing has always relied on  the combination and development of collective and individual movements. Through them he makes a declaration of love to dance, an ever-changing variation of a constantly evolving work.
