Crowd transports the audience to a rave, one of those parties where young people come together at an agreed place and time to listen and dance for hours to the sounds of techno music. Fifteen of them meet up here in a set featuring plastic glasses and a mishmash of clothing, pounded by bass beats and cradled by the layers of sustained sound played by DJs. Stories of love, friendship or rivalry take shape, figures emerge then melt away again into anonymity. The bodies explode or float, spread or curl up, leap about or fall at the frontline of experiences heightened by sensorial stimuli. With a shared and tacit understanding, the partiers push through to the end of the rave, the end of the dance that at times is like a trance, isolated or collective. When the free party is over, the dancers depart, exhausted, empty and seemingly lighter, leaving behind a stage filled with ghostly presences.
