Ruth Childs

Ruth Childs (born in 1984 in London) is a British-American dancer/performer/singer based in Geneva since 2003, when she arrived to dance with the Junior Ballet of Geneva for two years. Since 2005 she has been working with many different artists including Jean-Marc Heim, Foofwa d’Imobilité, Jozsef Trefeli, Massimo Furlan. Gilles Jobin, and La Ribot. Ruth is currently touring a revival of Mas Distinguidas (1997) a series from La Ribot’s famous distinguished pieces.

In 2014 she started to develop her own work through performance, film and music and founds her company SCARLETT’S, and her band SCARLETT’S FALL with Stéphane Vecchione (scarlettsfall.com).

Alongside her own projects she is working on a series of revivals of her aunt, Lucinda Childs’ early work from the 1960s and 70s. The first series of this project is on tour at the moment: Pastime (1963), Carnation (1964), Museum Piece (1965) and the second series Particular Reel/Calico Mingling/Reclining Rondo/Katema will premiere in the fall of 2017.
