Having frequently tackled notions of uniformity, endurance and excess in response to ultraliberal society, for WEG Ayelen Parolin drew inspiration from her interpretation
of Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. “Once again I wanted to contrast culture and nature, but this time by playing with our unconscious, involuntary, spontaneous impulses, to wake up from a huge work of cultural formatting, standardisation and slavery.” Nine dancers and the pianist Lea Petra accompany the creator who sees herself in the role of
a spider weaving her web in this new work, where chaos theory and birds’ migratory movements flutter. Orchestrating this chaos “like a natural catastrophe, a choreography of events that resonate brutally with
one another and become endlessly corrupted,: this is her path, tinged with the unforeseeable, with disruption, instability
and contradiction. In short, the paradoxes that make her, the tumult that inhabits her, fascinated as she is by “this essential and altruistic impossibility of realising the poetry of a whole that is imperceptible and tangible at the same time”.
