[ Cancelled ] Training Programme #17 : Distorsion

This workshop is a continuation of the “labos” research residences led by the Abis dance company. 
Julien Carlier invites dancers to share the choreographic material of this research and take these experiments further.

Julien’s technique comes from breakdance and hip-hop which he is continuing to develop into a hybrid choreographic language that is in dialogue with contemporary dance. He will be sharing this blend of techniques with the dancers through choreographic phrases, exercises in floor techniques and improvisation.

We will be questioning the relationship between danced movement and the outside world and the way in which we can find the driving forces that get us moving: starting from our relationship with others, the specific features of an environment, a feeling or a memory.
The bodies will be invested with different imaginary worlds in a relationship with the changing states of plastic materials, digital effects such as bugs, slow motion, rewind etc.
