Devised for children aged 5 and over, Caroline Cornélis has conceived and created her new piece with  lighting designer Frédéric Vannes, sound creator Claire Goldfarb, and writer and actor Laurence Vielle. Often used to put the finishing touches to a creation for the stage, here lighting is envisaged as the starting point of the reflection: a material, an object moving from the functional to the poetic, a mechanism for revelation. Light that unveils, shines out, touches, tells, connects, fascinates, scares, transports the imagination.

For light to emerge, shade is required. To make it palpable, it needs to physically encounter objects and bodies. That is its paradox and beauty: it brings them alive and lives through them, it gives them contours and texture, but also has the power to conjure them away. It can be passed through, pierced like fabric. Its evanescence can be played with, it can be changed, blended, sculpted, hollowed out. With movement as the tool and the body as the accomplice. At the end of the beam of light, a story is written of engagement, poetry and taming.
