After studying at P.A.R.T.S. and combining it with a master in philosophy, Noé Soulier has made movement his main object of study and research. A tireless explorer, this elegant young man distorts the sources and evidence of it. He recently transformed the transport and exhibition of pieces in a museum into a choreography of precise manipulation that found its rightful place in a theatre. It contained carefully unpacked works on stage, exhibiting them for a few minutes before taking them back to the museum’s store. In Faits et gestes, a piece performed by four exceptional dancers, he endeavours to twist the meaning of certain immediately recognisable gestures to reveal motor skills in them that until that point were invisible. The everyday reinterpreted in this way loses its banality to become a source of inspiration. It is all presented as an amusing rhetoric of the gesture, a skilful and playful game of choreographic composition involving the audience.
