Marco da Silva Ferreira has performed in the best dance that Portugal has to offer in recent years. After touring with the dynamic Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, in 2012 he decided to develop his own choreographies. In a quest for humanity and fraternity, he views his company and his work as an exercise in community. In brother he has brought together seven performers with different training backgrounds and styles but does not attempt to unify them. By respecting their individuality, he has turned it into it the show’s strength. Each one brings the quality of their own movement, and perceptible relationships are established in this semblance of chaos. With this young man dance becomes a manifesto for a desire to live and dance together.
