Présenté à l’occasion du festival Détours

A leading figure on Belgium’s breakdance scene, Milan Emmanuel set up the No Way Back company in 2009, before going on to run the Detours festival dedicated to urban arts. In 2012, he was part of the first intake in the Tremplin Hip-Hop project and after that continued to train in contemporary choreography while teaching hip-hop. Faithful to inspiration from the street and with a wealth of experience gained from working alongside some of today’s leading directors, he announces a new piece that has been tailor-made for three performers who are as different as they are talented: Meshake Lusolo, a breakdance trailblazer in his home city of Goma (DR Congo), includes experimentation and Ndombolo in his style; Enano from Venezuela who did karate for several years before coming across hip hop, and has spent twenty years blending martial arts and Afro-Caribbean dances;and Martin Klukas from Germany who has an astonishing presence and blends expressive dance, acrobatics and street art. These three powerful characters will use their individuality in this ode to non-conformism and to the utopia of a multiple, colourful world.
